Beijing, China – Rashidova Khulkar, an Uzbekistan native studying nuclear power engineering and management at Tsinghua University, has discovered a unique way to connect cultures: online gaming.
Khulkar notes that many young people in Uzbekistan are embracing Chinese popular culture, especially animation and online games. Through a popular Chinese Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) game, she’s teamed up with players from China, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan. Together, they’ve forged friendships, strategized, and learned about each other’s cultures in the heat of virtual battles.
"Playing together requires teamwork and communication," Khulkar said. "It’s amazing how a game can bring people from different countries closer."
She hopes that this digital camaraderie is just the beginning. Khulkar envisions more academic, cultural, and everyday exchanges between China and Uzbekistan, strengthening the lasting friendship between the two nations.
