Nepal’s Prime Minister K. P. Sharma Oli praised China’s leadership and development strategies during his four-day official visit to China from December 2 to 5. Celebrating nearly 70 years of diplomatic ties, the two countries strengthened their relationship by signing a nine-point agreement focusing on connectivity, industrial growth, infrastructure development, trade, and tourism.
Oli commended President Xi Jinping for his vision and significant contributions to China’s progress. He remarked, “The establishment of the Communist Party of China in 1921 was the most important turning point in Chinese history.” Oli highlighted how China’s advancements have positively impacted neighboring countries like Nepal.
The Nepali Prime Minister also lauded China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), emphasizing its aim to share prosperity and support nations striving for development. “It is part of a community of shared future for mankind,” he stated, underscoring the importance of global collaboration and mutual growth.
This visit marked a pivotal moment in Nepal-China relations, elevating their partnership and opening doors for enhanced cooperation. The agreements reached are expected to bring new opportunities for both nations, particularly for the youth in areas such as education, employment, and technology.
