Grenada’s Prime Minister Seeks Stronger Bonds with China
During an official visit to China from January 11 to 17, Grenada’s Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation between Grenada and China. Over the past two decades, the Caribbean nation has benefited greatly from its partnership with China, particularly in areas like infrastructure development, education, healthcare, cultural exchanges, and technology.
In an exclusive interview, Prime Minister Mitchell reflected on the fruitful relationship, stating, “Our collaboration with China has been instrumental in Grenada’s progress. We look forward to expanding this partnership to address global challenges such as peace, security, development, and climate change.”
He highlighted the foresight of Chinese President Xi Jinping, praising his global initiatives aimed at tackling pressing issues worldwide. “President Xi Jinping stands out as one of the world’s leading statesmen with the vision to address the challenges we face today,” Mitchell remarked.
The Prime Minister expressed optimism about future collaborations, especially through multilateral institutions. By strengthening ties with China, Grenada hopes to continue its development journey and contribute to global efforts in creating a more sustainable and secure world.
