On the eve of the Chinese New Year, the U.S.-based One Voice Children’s Choir touched hearts across the Chinese mainland with their soul-stirring performances. Touring major cities from December 27 to January 13, the choir connected with local young people, sharing melodies that transcended language barriers.
A highlight of their tour was a moving rendition of a Chinese song at Beijing’s Temple of Heaven, which took China’s social media by storm. This heartfelt gesture showcased their respect and appreciation for the country’s rich culture and history.
Masa Fukuda, along with team members Tanner DeWaal and Michelle Boothe, shared how this unique connection left a lasting impression on them. “There’s so many amazing things happening in China,” Tanner noted, expressing disappointment that U.S. media often focus on negative and sensationalized news about the country.
The choir’s journey not only entertained but also fostered cultural exchange and understanding between youth from different backgrounds. Their performances resonated with audiences, spreading a message of love and unity across the nation.
