Lebanon’s former Prime Minister Hassan Diab has highlighted China’s significant role in global development during his recent visit to Guangzhou for the “Understanding China” conference. In an exclusive interview with CMG’s Zou Yun, Diab emphasized how China’s rapid modernization offers valuable lessons for countries like Lebanon grappling with economic challenges.
“The more people understand China, the more they support China,” Diab stated. He underscored the importance of acknowledging China as a global power and the potential benefits of collaborative development. Diab believes that China’s approach to reform and modernization can contribute positively to the Middle East, fostering economic growth and stability.
He also discussed ways in which Lebanon can regain its unique status in the region by learning from China’s experiences. Diab suggested that adopting similar strategies could help Lebanon navigate its crises and promote sustainable development.
