In a world both connected and divided, global thought leaders convened to explore how cultural innovation can bridge gaps and foster shared human values. The roundtable discussion, titled “Cultural Innovation and Common Values of Humanity,” was hosted by CMG’s Wang Guan, bringing together decision makers from various fields.
“Civilizations thrive not by isolating themselves, but by reaching out and embracing differences,” Wang Guan remarked. The dialogue delved into how cultural innovation is more than creativity—it’s about connection, memory, and rediscovering our shared humanity.
Participants discussed the evolution of publishing from a medium of content transmission to one of value dissemination. “By sharing stories that encapsulate universal truths, we create spiritual bridges across civilizations,” a panelist noted.
The conversation highlighted the power of cross-cultural writing in articulating a common human language amid global narrative competition. “Our challenge is to find narratives that unite rather than divide,” emphasized another speaker.
Film and television were spotlighted as potent tools for rebuilding spaces of global consensus. “Visual media transcends linguistic barriers, reaching audiences worldwide,” Wang Guan said. “It has the potential to foster understanding on a grand scale.”
The roundtable also examined China’s Global Civilization Initiative, which aims to shape a transnational system rooted in shared human values. Through promoting dialogue and cultural exchange, the initiative seeks to cultivate mutual respect and cooperation among nations.
As the discussion concluded, there was a unanimous agreement: Cultural innovation is key to building a shared future. By embracing our common values, we can navigate a rapidly changing world together.
