Xi Stresses Building Strong Modernized Information Support Force

Xi Jinping Pushes for High-Tech Military Transformation

Beijing, China — Chinese President Xi Jinping is calling for a major upgrade to the nation’s military technology, emphasizing the need for a strong and modernized information support force.

During a visit on Wednesday to the Information Support Force of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA), President Xi highlighted the critical role of advanced network information systems in modern warfare.

“In today’s world, technology is advancing rapidly, and military innovations are transforming how wars are fought,” Xi said. “We must strengthen our network information systems to be ready for any challenge.”

The Information Support Force is a new strategic branch of China’s military, established during recent restructuring efforts. In April, President Xi presented the military flag to the force, marking its official formation.

Xi congratulated the force on holding its first Party Congress and encouraged members to focus on improving information services, building robust network platforms, and prioritizing cybersecurity.

He also stressed the importance of continuing reforms, enhancing coordination, and strengthening legal frameworks to boost the efficiency and quality of the military’s network information system.

“Our force is still young,” Xi noted. “We must build a strong internal structure, uphold the Party’s leadership, and cultivate a professional and skilled workforce.”

He called upon the Central Military Commission and government departments to work together to support the development of the Information Support Force and enhance China’s military capabilities.

The emphasis on technology and modernization reflects China’s ongoing efforts to position itself as a leading global power, investing heavily in advancements that could shape the future of defense and security.
