China has stepped forward to aid Vanuatu with a $1 million emergency relief package following recent natural disasters. The funding aims to support disaster response efforts and post-disaster reconstruction in the Pacific island nation.
According to a statement released by the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) on Monday, China has collaborated with local experts to conduct preliminary disaster assessments. Additionally, a medical team has been dispatched to assist those affected.
Li Ming, a spokesperson for CIDCA, noted that the Red Cross Society of China has also contributed $100,000 in emergency cash aid to Vanuatu.
“Moving forward, China is willing to continue offering further assistance as needed by Vanuatu to help the country overcome its difficulties and rebuild as soon as possible,” Li said.
Vanuatu, known for its vulnerability to natural disasters like earthquakes and cyclones, will utilize the aid to bolster its recovery efforts and support its citizens during this challenging time.
