China has expressed its support for all efforts leading to a peaceful resolution of the Ukraine crisis, hoping that all parties can reach a just, lasting, and acceptable solution.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning made the statement on Tuesday during a regular news briefing. She emphasized China’s willingness to work alongside the international community to play a constructive role in the political settlement of the crisis.
“China supports all efforts conducive to a peaceful settlement of the Ukraine crisis and hopes all parties can reach a just, lasting and acceptable solution,” Mao said.
The spokesperson’s remarks come ahead of a scheduled meeting between Ukraine and the United States in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia’s port city. The meeting aims to discuss pathways to end the ongoing conflict and restore peace in the region.
China has consistently advocated for dialogue and negotiations as the means to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, urging all involved parties to engage in diplomatic discussions.
“We are willing to continue to work with the international community to play a constructive role in the political settlement of the crisis,” Mao added.
The international community watches closely as diplomatic efforts intensify to bring an end to the hostilities that have affected millions.
