Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi emphasized the strong resilience and promising prospects of the Chinese economy during a meeting with former Liberal Democratic Party Secretary-General Toshihiro Nikai on Friday. Wang expressed that China’s high-quality development will open new avenues for China-Japan cooperation.
Wang Yi, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, praised Nikai for his enduring commitment to peace and friendship between China and Japan. He acknowledged Nikai’s significant role in fostering the development of bilateral relations over the years.
“China is ready to deepen practical cooperation with Japan and enhance exchanges across various fields, especially among youth and at the local level,” Wang stated. He encouraged Nikai and friends from all sectors of Japanese society to contribute to the healthy and stable growth of China-Japan relations.
