China is inviting more U.S. lawmakers and individuals from various sectors to visit and gain a deeper understanding of the country, according to Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun. Speaking at a daily press briefing on Monday, Guo emphasized the importance of fostering mutual understanding to promote steady and sustainable development of China-U.S. relations.
Guo’s remarks came in response to U.S. Senator Steve Daines’ hope to organize a bipartisan delegation of senators to visit China later this year, following David Perdue’s appointment as the new U.S. ambassador to China.
“China welcomes more U.S. lawmakers and people from all walks of life to visit and gain a better understanding of China, to play a constructive role in promoting the steady, sound, and sustainable development of China-U.S. relations,” Guo said.
The invitation underscores China’s efforts to enhance diplomatic ties and encourage open dialogue between the two nations. Such visits could pave the way for increased cooperation and cultural exchange, benefiting both countries.
