Chinese Premier Stresses Greater Efforts to Boost Consumption

Chinese Premier Li Qiang Urges Boosting Consumption to Unleash Market Potential

Chinese Premier Li Qiang has called for greater efforts to boost consumption and expand domestic demand, aiming to unlock the full potential of China’s vast market. Speaking during a tour in Beijing on Tuesday, Li emphasized the importance of strengthening domestic circulation to tackle challenges posed by global economic uncertainties.

While visiting an exhibition promoting domestic sales for foreign trade companies, Li acknowledged the adverse effects of changes in the external environment on China’s exports. He encouraged foreign trade firms to diversify their markets and innovate sales channels to maintain stability in foreign trade.

“We need to make good use of existing policies to promote domestic sales of foreign trade goods,” Li said. He stressed the importance of continuing actions to boost consumption and fostering healthy competition among companies to generate new demand through high-quality supply.

During his visit to a real estate project, Li learned about initiatives to convert unsold housing into apartments for talented professionals. He highlighted that purchasing existing commercial housing for affordable housing is crucial for stabilizing the real estate market and improving people’s livelihoods. Li urged support for these initiatives to further develop the sector.

“China’s real estate market still has significant room for growth,” Li noted. He called for efforts to unleash market potential, focus on constructing high-quality housing, accelerate the development of a new model for real estate, and promote the steady and healthy progression of the property market.
