A Salvadoran man who became a lightning rod for U.S. deportation policies has returned to the United States and is now facing federal charges.
Kilmar Abrego Garcia, whose deportation to El Salvador brought immigrant constitutional rights to the global agenda, is expected back in court next week following his return on Friday.
His case has deepened divisions between U.S. President Trump, Democrats, and the legal establishment over immigration policies.
