The third China-Latin America Cultural Tour Exhibition opened on Saturday at Sao Paulo State University in Brazil, drawing over 150 attendees, including representatives from Brazil’s and China’s cultural sectors, as well as university faculty and students.
Featuring an array of publishing, cultural creations, and intangible cultural heritage displays, the exhibition showcases 500 Chinese-themed books, children’s literature, Chinese teaching materials in Portuguese, dual-language books in Chinese and Portuguese, and 100 cultural and creative products reflecting traditional Chinese culture and “China chic” elements. The event creates a diverse and immersive Chinese cultural experience for visitors.
A representative from the Bureau of International Communication under China’s State Council Information Office expressed hope that this touring exhibition would deepen exchanges between China and Brazil in areas like copyright trade and educational cooperation. “We aim to add more cultural momentum to the China-Brazil community with a shared future, jointly building a more just world and a more sustainable planet,” the representative said.
Zhang Xi, deputy consul general of the Chinese Consulate General in Sao Paulo, highlighted that the exhibition fully demonstrates the charm of Chinese culture. “This event not only promotes mutual understanding between our peoples but also injects cultural impetus into deepening exchanges and cooperation between China and Brazil,” Zhang noted.
Karina Lilia Pasquariello Mariano, assistant provost to the vice-president of research at Sao Paulo State University, stated that the exhibition aligns perfectly with the university’s concept of foreign cultural exchanges. “In recent years, our university has continuously expanded cooperation with China. We are about to send more than 10 graduate students to Hubei University for exchanges to promote the in-depth development of bilateral cultural cooperation,” she added.
