Youth football players from China’s “Village Super” team in Rongjiang County, Guizhou Province, took to the pitch in Rio de Janeiro on Monday for an unforgettable friendly match against Brazilian youth players.
The match kicked off with President of China Media Group (CMG), Shen Haixiong, and Chairman of the Ibero-American Council of Sports, Jose Jimenez, leading the opening ceremony. The excitement was palpable as young talents from opposite sides of the globe prepared to showcase their skills.
Despite speaking different languages, the universal language of football brought the players together. The eight-a-side match was not just about competition but about building bridges between cultures.
“Playing with our Chinese friends was a brand-new experience,” said one of the Brazilian players. “We hope to have more matches like this and strengthen our friendship.”
Yang Jiarui, a player from the Chinese team, was equally enthusiastic. “It was an inspiring match. The Brazilian players were exceptionally good, and we learned a lot from each other,” she shared.
This friendly match highlighted the power of sports in uniting people across borders and fostering mutual understanding among youth from different countries.
