In a dramatic Premier League clash, Nottingham Forest secured a sensational 3-2 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday. The defeat leaves United’s new manager, Ruben Amorim, with two losses in his first three games.
Forest took an early lead when Nikola Milenkovic powered in a header just two minutes into the match. United responded swiftly, with Rasmus Hojlund sliding the ball into an empty net in the 18th minute after Manuel Ugarte’s initial shot was blocked.
Early in the second half, Morgan Gibbs-White restored Forest’s advantage with a swerving shot that caught goalkeeper Andre Onana off guard. Chris Wood then extended the lead to 3-1 with an angled header, continuing his incredible form.
Bruno Fernandes pulled one back for United with a long-range effort, but despite nearly half an hour remaining and seven minutes of injury time, Forest managed to hold off United’s attempts to level the score.
Meanwhile, Manchester City’s struggles continued as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Crystal Palace. City fell behind early when Daniel Munoz scored just four minutes in. Erling Haaland equalized with a smart header, but Palace retook the lead through Maxence Lacroix. Rico Lewis salvaged a point for City but was sent off later for a second yellow card.
In other action, Brentford continued their impressive home form with a 4-2 win over Newcastle United in a chaotic game affected by strong winds. Aston Villa edged Southampton 1-0 thanks to Jhon Duran’s goal, while the Merseyside derby between Everton and Liverpool was postponed due to Storm Darragh.
