China’s Liao Guifang Dominates Women’s 81kg at World Weightlifting Championships

China’s rising star, Liao Guifang, delivered a stellar performance at the World Weightlifting Championships in Manama, Bahrain. Competing in the women’s 81kg category, Liao swept all three gold medals, showcasing her exceptional strength and technique.

In the snatch event, Liao confidently lifted 120kg on her second attempt, securing the gold medal before even attempting her third lift. She went on to successfully lift 123kg, further asserting her dominance. Mongolia’s Ankhtsetseg Munkhjantsan claimed the silver, while Kim Kyong Ryong of the DPRK took bronze.

The competition heated up in the clean and jerk, with Egypt’s Olympic silver medalist Sara Samir lifting 149kg to challenge for the top spot. However, Liao once again proved unbeatable, lifting 150kg on her second attempt and an impressive 155kg on her third. Kim Kyong Ryong secured another bronze with a lift of 147kg.

Liao’s victory is particularly noteworthy as she was the lightest competitor in her division. Her remarkable performance adds to China’s proud legacy in weightlifting and inspires young athletes around the world.
