Canada Dominates Day 2 of Short Track Speed Skating World Cup with Three Golds

Canadian skaters showcased an exceptional performance on Day 2 of the Short Track Speed Skating World Cup in Seoul, South Korea, seizing three gold medals and two silvers across four thrilling events.

In the men’s 1,500-meter race, world champion William Dandjinou made a strategic inside move to overtake his competitors, holding onto the lead to finish first with a time of 2 minutes and 14.313 seconds.

In the men’s 500-meter, Olympic champion Steven Dubois dominated the ice, clinching gold in 41.681 seconds, while fellow Canadian Jordan Pierre-Gilles secured silver, making it a one-two finish for Canada.

The Canadian women’s team continued the winning streak in the 3,000-meter relay, capturing gold with a time of 4 minutes and 11.634 seconds.

Meanwhile, in the women’s 1,000-meter race, South Korea’s Kim Gil-li crossed the finish line first in 1 minute and 30.884 seconds, edging out Canada’s Danaé Blais and three-time Olympic champion Choi Min-jeong.

Canada’s impressive haul of medals highlights their dominance in short track speed skating, setting a high bar for the competition as the World Cup continues.
