China’s weightlifting star Wu Yan delivered an outstanding performance at the World Weightlifting Championships in Manama, Bahrain, claiming all three gold medals in the women’s 87kg category.

The 23-year-old athlete dominated the snatch event, securing gold with her initial successful lift of 115kg. She continued to impress by lifting 120kg and 122kg in her subsequent attempts, entering the clean and jerk with an 8kg lead over her competitors.

In the clean and jerk, Wu Yan solidified her triumphant run by lifting 148kg on her second attempt, securing both the clean and jerk and the overall gold medals. She capped off her performance with a remarkable 150kg lift on her third attempt, finishing with a total of 272kg and sweeping all three golds.

Australia’s Eileen Cikamatana also showcased commendable strength, earning silver medals in the clean and jerk and total weight with 257kg, along with a bronze in the snatch event.

Wu Yan’s exceptional achievements at the championship highlight her dedication and skill, inspiring young athletes across the globe. Her dominance in the competition underscores the high level of talent present in international weightlifting.
