Zhu Ting’s Triumphant Return: Leads Conegliano at Club World Championship

Chinese volleyball sensation Zhu Ting made a triumphant return to the FIVB Women’s Club World Championship, dazzling fans with her performance for Italy’s Imoco Volley Conegliano in Hangzhou.

In her first appearance at the tournament in five years, the 30-year-old outside hitter contributed 11 points to Conegliano’s opening victory against Brazil’s Dentil Praia Clube on Tuesday. The Italian champions continued their winning streak on Wednesday, defeating Vietnam’s LP Bank Ninh Binh 25-16, 25-8, 25-15, although Zhu was rested during the match.

Zhu’s return marks her sixth appearance at the Club World Championship. She has previously represented China’s Guangdong and Tianjin clubs, as well as Turkey’s VakıfBank, showcasing her talents on the international stage.

Fans from across the region flocked to Hangzhou to witness Zhu’s comeback. Speaking about her aspirations, Zhu said, “We have great coaches and players. Together we learn a lot from each other. No matter what club you play with, you always want to achieve the best result and bring out the best performance. This helps me to improve and inspires the spectators who came here to cheer for us.”

Zhu praised her new club’s scientific approach to training, adding, “At my new club, the coaches and physios know how to systematically plan things for me, so I can adjust myself in training and competitions. I don’t play all the games and train all the time. Basically, they know how to use me scientifically.”

With Zhu’s return and Conegliano’s strong performance, fans eagerly anticipate the upcoming matches as the team aims for the championship title.
