Sun, the 28-year-old star guard, notched a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds in his first game back. He wasted no time making an impact, finding teammate Josh Carlton early in the first quarter for a smooth lay-up, helping Guangsha establish a seven-point lead.
Continuing their momentum, Sun set up Carlton again for a powerful dunk in the second quarter, pushing the Lions ahead by 12. Barry Brown also made his mark, drilling a long-range triple on his way to a game-high 24 points, and extending Guangsha’s edge to 19 points.
The Lions maintained their dominance into the fourth quarter. Sun dished another assist to Carlton, putting Guangsha up by 18. Wu Xiao added to the highlight reel, stealing the ball and finding Carlton, who finished the night with an impressive 20 points and six rebounds.
Guangsha sealed the game with a 23-point margin, solidifying their position at the top of the table.
In other CBA action, the Qingdao Eagles hosted the Fujian Sturgeons. Jordan Mickey delivered a stellar performance with a game-high 38 points and 15 rebounds, leading the Eagles to a 114-102 victory and handing Fujian their 17th defeat of the season.
