China’s Cai Xuetong Soars to Silver at Snowboard World Cup

China’s snowboarding sensation, Cai Xuetong, claimed the silver medal in the women’s halfpipe final at the FIS Snowboard World Cup in Copper Mountain, Colorado, on Friday.

The 31-year-old three-time world champion showcased her remarkable skills, securing third place with a score of 85.50 points after her first run. Determined to climb higher, Cai delivered an even more impressive second run, earning 88.50 points and moving up to second place.

Japan’s rising star, 15-year-old Sara Shimizu, took the gold with a top score of 90.50 points. Fellow Japanese athlete Mitsuki Ono rounded out the podium in third place. The USA’s two-time Olympic champion, Chloe Kim, finished fourth in her season debut.

In the men’s halfpipe competition, Japan dominated the podium. Olympic gold medalist Ayumu Hirano soared to victory with an outstanding 97.00 points on his third run, leading a clean sweep for the Japanese team.

This event marked the second stop of the World Cup series this season, following the opener in Zhangjiakou, China, two weeks ago. With three more competitions ahead, athletes from around the world are pushing boundaries and showcasing extraordinary talent on the snowboarding stage.
