Conegliano Dominates Tianjin to Win Club World Championship

Conegliano, Italy’s volleyball powerhouse, clinched the FIVB Club World Championship title by defeating China’s Tianjin Bohai Bank in straight sets in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province.

The match concluded with scores of 25-21, 25-15, and 25-20, showcasing Conegliano’s dominance throughout the tournament as they didn’t drop a single set. This victory marks Conegliano’s third world title in just four appearances at the competition.

Tianjin started strong, leading midway through the first set. However, they couldn’t maintain their momentum and lost the set 25-21. The second set saw Tianjin struggling against Conegliano’s powerful jump serves, falling 25-15. Conegliano sealed their triumph with a 25-20 win in the third set.

Swedish star Isabelle Haak, the standout opposite for Conegliano, was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament. The 25-year-old led a group of seven exceptional players honored as part of the tournament’s “Dream Team.”

Chinese spikers Zhu Ting and Tianjin captain Li Yingying, who scored 12 points in the final, were recognized as the “Best Outside Hitters.” Their performances contributed to Tianjin achieving the best result ever by a Chinese team in the history of the event.

“No matter which side wins, this final was fantastic,” said Zhu Ting after the match. “I think everyone did a great job. I’m happy that our team has improved so much and played impressively. Although the result determined the champions, I think everyone is a winner.”

The championship showcased high-level volleyball and highlighted the growing competitiveness of teams worldwide, inspiring fans and young athletes across the globe.
