Three and Easy As Dortmund Move into Bundesliga Top Six

Dortmund’s Three-Goal Blitz Secures Top Six Spot in Bundesliga

Borussia Dortmund surged into the Bundesliga’s top six after a stunning five-minute, three-goal spree secured a 3-1 victory over Wolfsburg.

Coming off a three-match winless streak, Dortmund showcased their attacking prowess on the road. The breakthrough came when Donyell Malen tapped in Ramy Bensebaini’s corner from close range. Just moments later, rising star Max Beier doubled the lead, latching onto Julian Brandt’s precise through ball and finishing superbly with the outside of his right foot.

Beier wasn’t done yet; two minutes later, he turned provider, delivering a low cross for an unmarked Brandt, who coolly slotted home to make it three. Wolfsburg managed to pull one back in the second half through Denis Vavro, but the damage was already done.

Despite Pascal Gross receiving a red card just after the hour mark, Dortmund held firm to claim all three points, keeping them within touching distance of the top three.

“In the first half, we played really well, maintained excellent positioning, and pushed forward with determination,” said Dortmund coach Nuri Sahin. “In the second half, we unnecessarily allowed the opponent back into the game and had to defend more. The red card was totally avoidable.”

Meanwhile, in another clash, Bochum earned their first Bundesliga win of the season by defeating relegation rivals Heidenheim 2-0. Though they remain at the bottom, Bochum’s recent form gives them hope as they close the gap on Holstein Kiel ahead of the winter break.
