Liverpool Thrash Spurs 6-3 as Salah Shines; Man United Stunned by Bournemouth

Liverpool surged four points clear at the top of the Premier League with a thrilling 6-3 victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday. Mohamed Salah delivered a masterclass, scoring twice and providing two assists, elevating him to Liverpool’s fourth-highest scorer of all time with 229 goals.

The Reds showcased their attacking prowess early on, with goals from Luis Diaz and Alexis Mac Allister setting the tone. Dominik Szoboszlai added a third before halftime, and Salah took over in the second half, finding the net twice. Diaz capped off the stunning performance with his second goal of the match.

Manager Arne Slot praised the team’s effort: “For 60 minutes we did everything we had to do, we were comfortable and good with the ball. The main thing is we worked very hard. But you have to be on top of your game for the whole game and we didn’t do that.”

In contrast, Manchester United faced a crushing 3-0 defeat at Old Trafford against Bournemouth. United’s boss, Ruben Amorim, who omitted Marcus Rashford from the squad, expressed his disappointment: “This game was hard on us. We suffered again on set-pieces and we were a bit nervous. I felt it in the stadium. We have to suffer again but we will try to win.”

Elsewhere, Chelsea missed the chance to go top of the table after a goalless draw with Everton, ending their five-match winning streak. Wolves enjoyed a 3-0 victory over Leicester City, giving new manager Vitor Pereira a perfect start.
