10-2 Triumph: Sichuan Team Two Storms into Chinese Curling League Finals
Sichuan Team Two delivered a commanding performance in the Chinese Curling League, defeating Inner Mongolia Team Four with a decisive 10-2 victory to secure their spot in the mixed doubles final in Yichun, Heilongjiang province.
The match kicked off with Sichuan holding the blue handles. Early on, player Guo Jiaxin made a pivotal move by taking out two of Inner Mongolia’s stones, placing four of Sichuan’s stones in the House. Inner Mongolia’s Tian Linyuan answered back, removing two of Sichuan’s stones to keep the competition tight. However, Sichuan’s Yu Feng countered effectively, reclaiming a 3-1 lead after the second end.
The momentum shifted further in Sichuan’s favor during the third end when Tian misjudged her shot, inadvertently pushing one of Sichuan’s stones closer to the Button. This error allowed Sichuan to extend their lead to 7-1. They bolstered their advantage by adding two more points in the following ends.
Despite Inner Mongolia scoring a second point in the sixth end, Sichuan remained dominant. In the final moments, Yu Feng delivered a flawless takeout of a yellow-handled stone, sealing the 10-2 victory and propelling Sichuan Team Two into the championship final.
“Reaching the final is a testament to our teamwork and strategy,” said a Sichuan Team Two spokesperson. “We’re excited to compete for the title.”
Sichuan Team Two now sets their sights on the upcoming final, eager to claim the championship in the Chinese Curling League’s mixed doubles category.
