In Group C, Greece eliminated Spain from the competition with a thrilling 2-1 win. After Maria Sakkari stumbled 6-2, 6-1 against Jessica Bouzas Maneiro, Stefanos Tsitsipas stepped up to defeat Pablo Carreño Busta 6-4, 4-6, 6-3. The Greek pair then conquered the mixed doubles 4-6, 6-3, 10-6, sending Spain packing.
