Thrilling Qingdao Derby Ends in Draw; Shanghai Port Triumph Over Shenzhen

In a weekend filled with intense action, Qingdao Hainiu and Qingdao West Coast delivered a riveting 2-2 draw in their Chinese Super League derby, while Shanghai Port secured a commanding win over Shenzhen Peng City.

Qingdao Hainiu seized the early momentum when Wellington Silva unleashed a stunning strike from outside the box in the 11th minute, sending the home crowd into a frenzy as the ball soared into the top corner. The lead was short-lived, however, as Matheus of Qingdao West Coast capitalized on a close-range opportunity just four minutes later to level the score.

As the first half drew to a close, Hainiu’s midfielder Jia Feifan pounced on a goalkeeping error by Li Hao in the 42nd minute, restoring their advantage. The derby drama continued into the second half, with Matheus rising above the defense to head home his second goal in the 69th minute, sealing the 2-2 draw.

Elsewhere, defending champions Shanghai Port showcased their prowess with a 3-1 victory over Shenzhen Peng City. Matheus Jussa opened the scoring in the third minute, setting the tone for the match. Brazilian striker Gustavo then extended the lead with a brace, securing the win despite a late consolation goal from Shenzhen.

Shandong Taishan’s quest for a home victory against Henan was thwarted when goalkeeper Wang Dalei received a red card in the 22nd minute, forcing his team to play with ten men. Despite the setback, the match ended in a 0-0 stalemate as both sides failed to break the deadlock.

In other matches, Tianjin Jinmen Tigers and Meizhou Hakka played out an exciting 2-2 draw, while Zhejiang FC and Dalian Yingbo couldn’t be separated in a 1-1 tie.
