Chengdu, the vibrant capital of southwest China’s Sichuan Province, has unveiled the torch for the upcoming 2025 World Games. Named “Zhumeng,” which translates to “Bamboo Dream,” this torch is the first in the competition’s history and symbolizes a fusion of ancient culture and modern innovation.
Drawing inspiration from Sichuan’s ancient Shu civilization, the torch’s design incorporates elements from the renowned Sanxingdui Bronze Standing Figure and features bamboo segments. Standing at 72 centimeters tall, “Zhumeng” embodies the enduring legacy of Chinese civilization and the energetic spirit of global sportsmanship.
The torch’s primary colors are green and silver. Green represents the natural foundation of our world, emphasizing the importance of environmental sustainability. Silver signifies technological innovation and forward momentum. Together, they reflect China’s commitment to green development and cutting-edge progress, envisioning a shared future with the global community.
“Join the World Games, Ignite the Dream” is the slogan for the upcoming event’s relay, and the “Bamboo Dream” torch perfectly encapsulates this message. As Chengdu prepares to host the second edition of the World Games from August 7 to 17, anticipation is building for a celebration of athletic excellence and cultural exchange.
