North Team Triumphs in 2025 CBA All-Star Game; Zou Yuchen Named MVP

The North Team dominated the court on Sunday, overpowering the South Team with a score of 159-136 in the 2025 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) All-Star Game. Held amidst an electrifying atmosphere, the event celebrated its 30th anniversary in style.

Beijing Royal Fighters’ center Zou Yuchen shone brightly, scoring a team-high 23 points and earning the prestigious Most Valuable Player (MVP) award. “The electric atmosphere pushed me to elevate my game. Winning this MVP on the 30th anniversary feels like a career milestone,” Zou expressed with enthusiasm.

The halftime break paid homage to the legends who participated in the inaugural 1996 CBA All-Star Game. Fans and players alike honored iconic figures and coaches who were instrumental in shaping Chinese basketball’s Golden Generation.

In the Skills Challenge Contest, Guangdong Southern Tigers’ guard Xu Jie showcased his agility and precision, clinching his second consecutive title. Meanwhile, Shanxi Loongs’ sharpshooter Yuan Shuai dominated the three-point shooting contest, defending his crown with an impressive 25-point final round.

Wildcard entrant Chen Dengxing captivated the audience in the slam dunk contest. He executed a gravity-defying dunk by leaping over seven of his teammates, securing his victory and leaving spectators in awe.

“Many legends here inspired me as a child,” said Yuan Shuai. “I’ve trained harder than most on shooting. Scoring 25 points back-to-back is special, but I aim to break this record next time.”

The 2025 CBA All-Star Game not only highlighted the exceptional talent in Chinese basketball but also honored the rich history and legacy of the sport in the country. Fans are already looking forward to what the next season will bring.
