The 29-year-old world number one maintained his momentum in the second game, launching swift attacks that put him ahead 11-6. He sealed his victory with a decisive 21-8 score and will next face Chou Tien Chen from Chinese Taipei.
Meanwhile, seventh seed Lee Zii Jia faced a challenging match against Ng Ka Long Angus from Hong Kong, China.
