Chinese Skiers Claim Three Medals at FIS Freestyle World Cup

Chinese skiers delivered a stellar performance at the FIS Freestyle World Cup in Livigno, Italy, on Thursday, securing three medals in the aerials competition.

In the women’s aerials final, Olympic champion Xu Mengtao executed a flawless back full-full-full, earning a score of 105.17 points to claim the silver medal. Australia’s Laura Peel took gold with 112.90 points, while China’s Chen Meiting grabbed bronze with 91.44 points.

On the men’s side, Sun Jiaxu soared to a silver medal with a score of 113.73. Switzerland’s Noe Roth clinched gold with an impressive 130.05 points, and his compatriot Pirmin Werner took bronze. Wang Xindi of China, who previously won at the World Cup stop in Almaty, finished fourth with 101.00 points.

Despite not advancing to the final, China’s Olympic champion Qi Guangpu topped the overall World Cup standings with 400 points, earning this season’s coveted Crystal Globe.

This event marked the conclusion of the Aerials World Cup season. Livigno is set to host the aerials competitions during the Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics in 2026, putting the Italian resort back in the global spotlight.
