China Dominates BWF Swiss Open with Four Golds and Two Silvers

China showcased its badminton prowess at the BWF Swiss Open, capturing four gold medals and two silver medals.

In a thrilling women’s singles final, Olympic champion Chen Yufei defeated Denmark’s Line Kjaersfeldt with a score of 21-17, 21-17. This victory marks Chen’s first title of the season and her first since triumphing at the 2023 Indonesia Open.

On the men’s side, world number 17 Weng Hongyang dominated France’s Christo Popov to claim the men’s singles championship. Weng’s powerful performance solidified his rising status in the international badminton scene.

The women’s doubles event saw Jia Yifan and Zhang Shuxian overcome the world’s top-ranked pair, Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning, in a gripping 2-1 match. Their victory underscores China’s depth of talent in women’s doubles.

In the mixed doubles final, Feng Yanzhe and Wei Yaxin defeated fellow compatriots Zhu Yijun and Zhang Chi with a convincing 2-0 scoreline, adding another gold to China’s impressive haul.
