Top Seed Zverev Powers into Fourth Round of Miami Open

Zverev Battles Back to Reach Miami Open Fourth Round

Alexander Zverev overcame a sluggish start to secure his spot in the fourth round of the Miami Open on Monday. The German star defeated Australia’s Jordan Thompson 7-5, 6-4 at Hard Rock Stadium.

Zverev found himself trailing 1-4 in the first set but mounted an impressive comeback by winning eight of the next nine games. “Jordan made it difficult for me for sure. He’s a quality player,” Zverev said after the match. “I’m happy with my level from 1-4 onwards.”

The victory is a significant boost for Zverev, who faced an early exit at Indian Wells earlier this month. With top seed Carlos Alcaraz already out of the tournament, Zverev’s chances of adding an eighth Masters 1000 title look promising.

In other action, third seed Taylor Fritz advanced to the fourth round with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Canada’s Denis Shapovalov. Fritz overcame a lapse after leading 5-2 in the first set, regaining control to seal the match. His powerful serve proved too much for Shapovalov to handle.

The Miami Open continues to deliver exciting matches as top players vie for the prestigious title. Fans can look forward to more thrilling tennis action in the days ahead.
