Six athletes from China have advanced to the aerials finals at the FIS Snowboard, Freestyle, and Freeski World Championships in Switzerland on Saturday.
In the women’s qualifying rounds, Xu Mengtao and Chen Xuezheng successfully executed their back double Full-Full jumps, which have a degree of difficulty of 3.525. Xu secured second place in the first round with 90.24 points, while Chen finished sixth with 82.83 points, earning both a spot in the final.
Joining them is teammate Shao Qi, who performed a back Full-Full with a 3.150 degree of difficulty, scoring 85.99 points to finish third in the first round. Despite a challenging first attempt, Chen Meiting increased her routine’s difficulty in the second round, opting for a back flip triple Full. She overcame obstacles to qualify for the final with 77.33 points.
On the men’s side, Wang Xindi and Sun Jiaxu advanced to the final. Wang executed a back layout double Full-Full with a 4.425 degree of difficulty, scoring 116.37 points to place third in the first round. Sun faced some difficulties but managed to qualify with 111.95 points. Unfortunately, Olympic champion Qi Guangpu and Li Tianma did not advance.
The finals promise to be thrilling as these talented athletes represent the Chinese mainland on the world stage, showcasing their skills and determination.
