China’s Olympic champions Chen Yuxi and Quan Hongchan showcased their diving prowess with a remarkable one-two finish in the women’s 10-meter platform final at this year’s Diving World Cup.

Quan, who topped the qualifications, maintained her form in the final, leading Chen by 2.7 points after the first two rounds. The competition intensified in the third round—the only round where the duo performed different dives. Chen, 19, impressed judges with a spectacular 626C dive, earning a high score of 89.10 points. Meanwhile, Quan attempted the 6243D dive but encountered difficulties during her entry, scoring 75.20 points.

In her final attempt, Chen executed the 5253B dive, scoring 76.80 points and concluding with a total of 419.35 points. Quan finished strong with an impressive 88.00 points, but her total of 414.40 points wasn’t enough to reclaim the top spot. Chen secured her 15th World Cup title, while Britain’s Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix claimed third place with 337.70 points.

In the men’s 10-meter synchronized final, China’s Zhu Zifeng and Cheng Zilong triumphed over Mexico’s Randal Willars Valdez and Kevin Berlin Reyes to win gold. Zhu and Cheng started with a commanding 102.60 points after the first two rounds. Despite a setback in the third round that allowed the Mexican team to take the lead, the Chinese duo bounced back with a 90.78-point dive in the fourth round.

They maintained their momentum, finishing the sixth round with 87.48 points and sealing the gold medal with a total of 449.49 points—defeating the Mexican pair by 14.04 points. Russia’s Ruslan Ternovoi and Nikita Shleikher rounded out the podium in third place.
