China’s Wang and Song Clinch Gold in 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team at ISSF World Cup

China’s dynamic duo, Wang Zifei and Song Buhan, clinched the gold in the 10m air rifle mixed team event at the ISSF World Cup in Buenos Aires on Wednesday.

The pair delivered a stellar performance, outshooting India’s Arya Borse and Rudrankksh Patil with a decisive 17-9 victory in the finals. Establishing an early 6-0 lead, Wang and Song showcased composure and precision, maintaining control throughout the match. They reached the gold medal point at 14-4 and, despite a late surge from the Indian team, secured the top spot on the podium.

This victory marks Wang Zifei’s second gold medal at the Buenos Aires World Cup, following her triumph in the women’s 10m air rifle individual event just two days prior. Their success contributes to China’s impressive tally of four gold medals at this leg of the competition.

In the qualification round, Wang and Song dominated with a total of 631.4 points, earning them the top seed position for the title match. The Indian duo of Borse and Patil closely followed with 630.5 points.

The bronze medal was claimed by Argentina’s own Fernanda Russo and Marcelo Julian Gutierrez, who edged out India’s Narmada Nithin Raju and Arjun Babuta in a thrilling 17-13 showdown.

The ISSF World Cup in Buenos Aires continues to be a stage for outstanding sharpshooting talent, with young athletes from around the globe showcasing their skills and vying for top honors.
