China’s Hu Kai showcased exceptional skill and composure to clinch the men’s 10m air pistol title at the ISSF World Cup in Lima, Peru, on Tuesday. Scoring an impressive 246.4 points, the 23-year-old marksman edged out Brazil’s Felipe Almeida Wu by a margin of 5.4 points, securing his second consecutive World Cup victory this season.

Teaming up with compatriot Xie Yu, a gold medalist from the Paris Olympics, both athletes advanced to the finals with Hu leading the pack after the first 10 rounds with 102.3 points.
As they progressed into the intense knockout phase, Hu maintained his lead with consistent precision, leaving spectators in awe. Despite strong competition, Xie Yu finished fifth, while Hu’s steady aim and focus propelled him to the top of the podium once again.
“It’s an incredible feeling to win here in Lima,” Hu said after the victory. “Competing alongside so many talented shooters pushes me to perform my best. I’m grateful for the support from my team and everyone back home.”
Hu Kai’s back-to-back victories signal a promising future for the young athlete, as he continues to make his mark on the international stage. His success adds to China’s strong presence in shooting sports, inspiring a new generation of athletes across the Global South.
