BEIJING, China — In a stunning display of athleticism, China swept all five gold medals on the first day of the Diving World Cup Super Final at Beijing’s National Aquatics Center, delighting a capacity crowd on Friday.

Women’s 10m Synchronized Platform

The dynamic duo of Quan Hongchan and Chen Yuxi made a triumphant return to the international stage since last summer’s Paris Olympics. Despite a few mid-round errors, the Olympic champions secured the gold with a total of 350.88 points, thanks to a spectacular final dive scoring 85.44 points. Aleksandra Kedrina and Anna Konanykhina took silver, while Maisie Bond and Lois Toulson claimed bronze.

Men’s 10m Synchronized Platform

Newcomers Cheng Zilong and Zhu Zifeng captivated the home audience by leading from start to finish. Their impressive performance earned them 460.92 points, a significant 34.23 points ahead of runners-up Nikita Shleikher and Ruslan Ternovoi. Mark Hrytsenko and Oleksli Sereda rounded out the podium in third place.

Women’s 3m Synchronized Springboard

Olympic champions Chen Yiwen and Chang Yani dominated the event with a score of 323.13 points. Maddison Keeney and Alysha Koloi secured silver, while Yasmin Harper and Scarlett Mew Jensen took home bronze.

Men’s 3m Synchronized Springboard

Zheng Jiuyuan and Hu Yukang maintained their lead throughout all six dives, finishing with a winning total of 448.65 points. Anthony Harding and Jack Laugher earned silver, with Lou Noel Guy Massenberg and Moritz Wesemann capturing bronze.

Mixed Team Final

The team of Chen Yiwen, Wang Zongyuan, Chen Yuxi, and Cheng Zilong clinched the fifth gold for China with a combined score of 507.20 points. Ukraine secured silver, while Mexico took bronze, concluding an unforgettable opening day for the host nation.

With such a dominant start, China’s diving team has set a high bar for the remainder of the competition, showcasing their exceptional talent and solidifying their status as a diving powerhouse.
