China Clinches Record 14th Sudirman Cup Title Over South Korea

China secured its record-extending 14th Sudirman Cup title after defeating South Korea 3-1 in an electrifying final on Sunday in Xiamen. The host nation showcased dominance in badminton’s premier mixed team competition, delighting fans with stellar performances across the board.

In the opening mixed doubles match, China’s Feng Yanzhe and Huang Dongping faced a tough challenge against South Korea’s Seo Seung-jae and Chae Yu-jung. After clinching the first game 21-16, the Chinese pair dropped the second 17-21 but bounced back to claim the decider 21-15, giving China an early lead.

South Korea leveled the score in the women’s singles, where World No. 1 An Se-young overpowered China’s Wang Zhiyi with a 21-17, 21-16 victory.

China regained momentum in the men’s singles as Shi Yuqi delivered a commanding performance, defeating Jeon Hyeok-jin 21-5, 21-5, and putting China ahead 2-1.

The decisive moment came in the women’s doubles, where Olympic silver medalists Tan Ning and Liu Shengshu secured the title for China by beating the third-ranked duo Baek Ha-na and Lee So-hee 21-14, 21-17.

This victory marks China’s fourth consecutive Sudirman Cup win, reinforcing their dominance in international badminton and thrilling fans worldwide.
