China showcased its unparalleled dominance in diving by sweeping all nine gold medals at the World Aquatics Diving World Cup Super Final, held at Beijing’s National Aquatics Center. The three-day event concluded on Sunday with stellar performances from the home team, much to the delight of the local crowd.
On the final day, Chen Jia and Zhu Zifeng clinched the last two gold medals, sealing China’s complete victory. Chen Jia continued her winning streak in the women’s 3m springboard, scoring 382.05 points to edge out her teammate, Olympic champion Chen Yiwen, who secured silver with 368.40 points. Australia’s Maddison Keeney took bronze, while Italy’s Chiara Pellacani finished fourth.
Zhu Zifeng dazzled spectators in the men’s 10m platform final, earning perfect scores early in the competition. He achieved five tens on his opening 407C dive and amassed five 90-plus-point scores across six attempts. His highest score was an impressive 102.60 for his 207B dive, leading him to victory with a total of 571.90 points. Zhu’s remarkable performance earned him the Best Male Diver award at the iconic venue, also known as the Water Cube.
Chen Yuxi, a triple gold medalist at the event, was honored with the Best Female Diver award. Her consistent excellence contributed significantly to China’s clean sweep at the competition.
The Super Final featured 75 divers from 17 countries and regions, attracting approximately 21,000 spectators to the two-time Olympic venue over three days. China’s outstanding performance reaffirms its position as a powerhouse in the world of diving.
