Bai Yulu Fights Back to Defend Womens World Snooker Championship

Bai Yulu Defends Women’s World Snooker Title with Thrilling Comeback in Guangdong

China’s 21-year-old snooker sensation Bai Yulu has made history by defending her World Women’s Snooker Championship title, defeating world number one Mink Nutcharut 6-4 in a thrilling final in Dongguan, Guangdong Province.

In a rematch of last year’s nail-biter, which saw Bai clinch victory 6-5, the two top seeds showcased exceptional skill and determination. The match was a rollercoaster of emotions, with momentum swinging dramatically between the players.

Thailand’s Nutcharut, the 2022 champion, surged ahead early, executing a brilliant 50-point break that appeared to put her in control. However, a critical mistake allowed Bai to steal a narrow 51-50 frame, edging her into the lead. Undeterred, Nutcharut fought back fiercely, taking a commanding 4-2 lead.

Facing the brink of defeat, Bai mounted a remarkable comeback. She regained her composure, leveled the match at 4-4, and refused to let Nutcharut add to her score. In the tense final frames, Bai overcame a brief stumble and sealed the victory with nerves of steel.

“I played both finals on home soil,” Bai said after her triumph. “I am very honored and happy to win this title in front of this crowd. Defending the title has given me more confidence. I will be better in the future.”

Bai’s victory not only solidifies her place in snooker history but also highlights China’s growing dominance in the sport, with both men’s and women’s world titles now held by Chinese players.
