Olympic Champions Sui Han to Make Competitive Return Next Season

Olympic Champions Sui and Han Set for Grand Return Next Season

Olympic figure skating champions Sui Wenjing and Han Cong are making a thrilling return to competition next season after being named in the Chinese mainland’s roster for the 2025-2026 ISU Grand Prix series.

The Chinese Figure Skating Association announced late on Friday that the dynamic duo, who clinched gold at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics and silver at the PyeongChang Winter Olympics, will compete in both the Cup of China and NHK Trophy events.

Sui and Han have been fan favorites, mesmerizing audiences worldwide with their grace and chemistry on the ice. Their comeback is highly anticipated, especially since they haven’t competed together since their triumphant performance at the Beijing Winter Games.

Their return is crucial for the Chinese mainland’s hopes in figure skating. Earlier this year, China did not qualify for the World Championships, making the upcoming September qualifying event in Beijing the final opportunity to secure their spot for the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics.

The six-stop Grand Prix series kicks off in France on October 17th. The Cup of China is scheduled for October 24th to 26th in Chongqing, after which the circuit moves to Canada, Japan, the United States, and Finland.

Fans across the globe are eagerly awaiting Sui and Han’s performances, hopeful that their return will shine a spotlight on the sport and inspire the next generation of skaters.
