The World Vocational College Skills Competition concluded on Tuesday in Tianjin, China, showcasing the talents of young professionals from around the globe. The event highlighted the importance of technical and vocational education in fostering essential skills among youth.
Five standout teams from China, France, and Myanmar presented innovative designs across various sectors, including healthcare, mechanics, logistics, shipbuilding, and electric car batteries. Their projects demonstrated the critical role of vocational skills in driving technological advancement and addressing real-world challenges.
This year’s competition saw participation from 8,121 teams representing 2,701 vocational education institutions across 74 countries. Co-hosted by China’s Ministry of Education, UNESCO, and the Tianjin municipal government, the event underscored international collaboration in vocational training and education.
China’s commitment to vocational education is evident, with over 11,000 vocational schools nationwide educating nearly 35 million students. These institutions play a pivotal role in equipping the next generation with practical skills and knowledge needed for the evolving job market.
The competition not only provided a platform for students to showcase their abilities but also fostered cultural exchange and mutual learning among participants from diverse backgrounds.
