China has strongly condemned the United States for implementing new restrictions on semiconductor exports to the country. On Monday, a spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Commerce expressed deep concern over the latest U.S. measures, which further tighten controls on semiconductor manufacturing equipment and storage chips.
The spokesperson noted that the U.S. has added 136 Chinese entities to its export control entity list, asserting that this action interferes with China’s trade with third parties. “This constitutes economic coercion and unfair market practices,” the spokesperson stated.
The Chinese government argues that the semiconductor industry is highly globalized, and that unilateral actions by the U.S. are severely hindering normal trade between countries. According to officials, these measures undermine market rules and the international economic order, threatening the stability of global supply chains.
The spokesperson also mentioned that U.S. companies in the semiconductor industry could be adversely affected by these new restrictions. China has vowed to take necessary measures to safeguard its legitimate rights and interests.
