The Shenzhou-19 crew aboard the China Space Station is gearing up for their first extravehicular activities (EVAs) in the coming days, as announced by the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) on Monday.
Over the past 48 days, the taikonauts have been diligently working to ensure the station operates smoothly. They’ve successfully rotated with the Shenzhou-18 crew, maintained the space station platform, and kept life support systems in top condition. They’ve also conducted thorough inspections and tests on their EVA suits in preparation for the upcoming spacewalk.
In addition to their preparations, the crew has participated in system-wide pressure emergency drills and medical rescue exercises, honing their skills in various in-orbit training programs. They’ve also been busy conducting a range of space science experiments, contributing to advancements in space exploration.
The CMSA confirmed that the Shenzhou-19 crew is in excellent health and that the space station is functioning optimally, setting the stage for a successful spacewalk mission.
