China Seizes Ai Breakthroughs to Drive Industry and Household Adoption

China Accelerates AI Integration to Transform Industries and Daily Life

China is embracing the latest breakthroughs in artificial intelligence (AI) to transform industries and enhance everyday life. Chen Changsheng, deputy director of the State Council Research Office and member of the Government Work Report Drafting Team, announced at a press briefing on Wednesday that the nation plans to leverage its strengths in digital technology, manufacturing, and vast market scale to drive widespread adoption of AI models across various sectors.

This year has already seen rapid deployment of AI applications in China. Innovations like DeepSeek have gained global attention, while Unitree Robotics’ dancing robots showcased at the China Media Group Spring Festival Gala captivated audiences nationwide.

“The international capital market has shown renewed confidence in Chinese assets,” Chen noted, highlighting AI’s pivotal role in driving economic growth. The government’s focus this year centers on three key areas:

1. Empowering Industries: AI integration will span manufacturing, agriculture, and services. The government will strongly support the development and application of large AI models in specialized fields, aiming to accelerate industrial transformation and boost productivity.

2. Expanding AI-Powered Consumer Products: Efforts will accelerate the development of smart connected vehicles, AI-powered smartphones, AI-driven computers, and intelligent robots. By aligning AI advancements with China’s manufacturing capabilities, these innovations are set to reach the market faster, enhancing daily life for consumers.

3. Scaling AI Applications Across Sectors: The government plans to launch large-scale demonstrations of new AI-driven technologies, products, and use cases, particularly in areas like the low-altitude economy, education, and healthcare. By fostering rapid iteration and large-scale adoption, the aim is to create a dynamic synergy between technological innovation and market applications, while preventing market fragmentation from excessive reliance on proprietary deployments.

China also intends to advance core AI technologies, accelerate data-driven innovation, and optimize computing infrastructure nationwide. Recognizing the crucial role of AI talent, especially among young professionals, the government will allocate more resources to support youth-led innovation and cultivate an open and inclusive environment for AI development.
