China’s low-altitude economy is set to become a new powerhouse for economic growth, activating innovative forms of consumption across the country, according to Yang Yi, a member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).

“The low-altitude economy, representing new high-quality productive forces with immense growth potential, is a crucial avenue to foster new growth momentum,” Yang said on Friday. “It has wide applications in logistics, urban air transport, emergency rescue, and can boost new consumption, enhance government public services, and reshape future transportation and logistics patterns.”

Yang, a senior technical specialist at the Aviation Industry Corporation of China, made these remarks during a question-and-answer session at the Members’ Corridor, as the third session of the 14th National Committee of the CPPCC held its second group interview at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

She emphasized the need for cooperation in airspace opening and management, safety protocols, technological innovation, and market-driven strategies to promote large-scale applications of the low-altitude economy.

Experts believe that the development of the low-altitude economy could revolutionize industries such as logistics and transportation, offering faster delivery services and enhancing emergency response capabilities.

By leveraging advancements in technology and airspace management, China aims to tap into this emerging sector to drive economic growth and create new opportunities for businesses and consumers alike.

With its potential to transform urban air transport and other critical sectors, the low-altitude economy is poised to become a significant contributor to China’s future economic landscape.
