During the Spring Festival, Beijing’s Ditan Park hosted its 37th temple fair, embracing the theme of “Chinese New Year” and offering visitors a spectacular blend of visual art and cultural heritage.
From the entrance to key areas along the park’s main pathways, traditional elements such as zodiac symbols, woodblock prints, couplets, and paper-cuts were seamlessly woven into the landscape’s design. This transformed the fair into a living “art exhibition” celebrating Chinese New Year customs.
This year’s temple fair brought together diverse New Year traditions from across China, featuring stage performances, interactive experiences, and themed exhibitions. Spectacular shows such as lion dances, Korean hat dances, and stilt-walking captivated audiences, earning rounds of applause.
The fair also showcased a diverse selection of intangible cultural heritage handicrafts and creative products. These offerings highlighted the essence of Chinese craftsmanship while blending modern aesthetics, allowing visitors to experience the fusion of tradition and innovation and select unique, stylish New Year souvenirs.
