Wild Swans Depart Korla’s Peacock River After Winter Stay

As spring approaches, the serene Peacock River in Korla, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, bids farewell to its elegant winter guests. For the 19th consecutive year, wild swans have graced the city with their presence, turning urban waterways into scenes of natural beauty.

This year, an estimated 520 swans chose Korla as their winter retreat. These graceful birds have become a cherished sight for locals and visitors alike, symbolizing the harmony between nature and city life.

Now, as temperatures rise, the swans are preparing for their annual journey back to Bayanbulak. Their departure marks the start of a new season, leaving behind memories and the promise of their return next winter.
